UPCOMING EVENT

Piano Sundays Spring Series Begins February 5.
University of Iowa School of Music Professors, Dr. Rene Lecuona and Dr. Alan Huckleberry, will open the spring program of the sixth annual Piano Sundays concert series at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, February 5, in the Old Capitol Senate Chamber. Piano Sundays performances are free and open to the public.

The program will include works of Bach and Schubert, among others.

Dr. Lecuona is an international performer praised by critics in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. Her performances have been featured on many albums, including a recording of the music of Margaret Brouwer (CRI label), which won the 2000 Contemporary Art Music Burton Award.

Praised for his “impeccable musicianship, exhilarating technique, and panache(American Record Guide), Huckleberry is recognized as a multi-faceted artist on the classical music scene.  He has performed both in recitals and as a soloist with orchestras in Germany, England, Czech Republic and the United States.

Piano Sundays are sponsored by the UI Pentacrest Museums, West Music and the UI School of Music.
